Assumptions
- Sighting chance is an indication based on density and season, not a guarantee.
- Prices are indications for 2026 without seasonal peaks, including flights unless stated.
- Travel-time advice assumes an average traveller without special requirements.
- Visa and safety info are snapshots; the current travel advisory always wins.
What we do not calculate
- No live availability of lodges, tours or permits.
- No visa guarantee and no medical advice on vaccinations or malaria.
- No daily price prediction and no currency advice.
- No review of individual operators.
Update schedule
Yearly check in January (prices, seasons, IUCN statuses), interim corrections within 2 weeks of a report. Every page shows its update date. Last major update: September 8, 2026.

Are the sighting chances a guarantee?
No. High, medium and variable are indications based on density and season. Wildlife stays wild and no operator can guarantee a sighting.
How current are the prices?
All prices are indications for 2026 including an intercontinental flight, unless stated otherwise. Always request a detailed quote from the provider.
Why is an animal not listed in a country?
An animal only appears in a country if there is a realistic place and season where visitors see it. Technical range without a practical sighting does not count.
How do we handle error reports?
Through the contact link at the bottom of every page. Verified corrections are processed within 2 weeks with a new update date.
