How big is the chance of whales?
Above 95 percent in June to August in Husavik. If there is no sighting you can almost always join a next trip for free.
RIB or classic boat?
A RIB reaches the animals faster and sits at water level, but is windy and bouncy. The classic oak boats are stable with a toilet and a cafeteria. With children or seasickness: go classic.
Can I combine whales with the northern lights?
Hard in one trip. Whales peak June to August (midnight sun), aurora September to March. September is the only overlap month, but mediocre for both.
Is Iceland expensive?
